Atlanta does not do flat. In 2026 you started beside Mercedes-Benz Stadium at The Home Depot Backyard, looped out through the city's neighborhoods and never found a level mile; the course climbed about 1,338 feet in all, which is why fewer than two percent of finishers ran Boston times. For 2027 the Atlanta Track Club has moved the race a week later, to March 7, and promises a new Downtown Atlanta course with the details still to come, so check the route before you plan your long runs. What you can count on is a well-run, sold-out event, a 5K the day before, and a field that has more than tripled since 2022. Train on hills, respect the 15-minute-per-mile cutoff, and enjoy a finish in the heart of downtown.
2027 brings a new Downtown Atlanta course not yet published; the 2026 course was a rolling road loop from The Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes-Benz Stadium / Centennial Olympic Park with about 1,338 ft of gain and no flat sections.
