You start on Maryland Street in the shadow of the Indiana Convention Center on a crisp November morning, with Monument Circle's limestone glowing a few blocks away. The course heads north through Meridian-Kessler and Broad Ripple, where the sidewalks are carpeted in yellow leaves and the neighborhoods come out with cowbells, then loops back downtown on long, straight avenues. Nothing on the course deserves the word hill. That is why nearly one in five finishers leaves with a Boston qualifier, and why the race sells out: if you want in for 2027, be at your keyboard at midnight on New Year's Eve. The seven-hour limit is generous, the half-marathon split near mile 7 is well marked, and the finish back on Maryland Street is loud and close to your hotel.
Fast, flat loop from the start/finish on Maryland Street downtown through historic neighborhoods and cultural districts north of the city center and back.
