You start at 7:30 a.m. under the elk antler arches on Jackson's Town Square, pass the edge of the National Elk Refuge, and by mile 4 you are on the valley's paved community pathways with the Tetons in view for most of the morning. The course loops South Park, crosses the Snake River near mile 17, and follows the newest pathway sections out to Teton Village, where the final tenth of a mile is on grass beneath a second antler arch. It is a cupless race, so carry your own bottle; aid stations with water and electrolytes come every two to three miles. Cutoffs are enforced at every aid station and the finish closes at 2:15 p.m., but a 7:00 a.m. early-bird wave exists if you expect 15-minute miles. Afterward Teton Village runs an Oktoberfest, so your finish-line beer is practically scheduled.
