This is a small, quiet marathon built for a time goal. You start at Holdingford High School and run the entire 26.2 miles on the paved Lake Wobegon Trail, an old rail line, through Albany and Avon to the trail facility in St. Joseph. There are no cars, almost no turns, and only a gentle net downhill, so you can settle into a rhythm early; the loudest things you will hear are your own footfalls on the asphalt and birds in the farm fields. The St. Cloud River Runners, a club active since 1983, host it, and the field is capped at a few hundred, so register early; entry was $85.80 through October 31, 2026. A six-hour window keeps it friendly for steady runners, and nearly one in five finishers earned a Boston qualifier in 2026.
Point-to-point from Holdingford High School to the trail facility in St. Joseph, run entirely on the paved Lake Wobegon Trail rail-trail through Albany and Avon, with minimal elevation change and a gentle net downhill.
