You start on Agate Street in the shadow of Hayward Field, run south through the university neighborhoods and out East Amazon to Frank Kinney Park, then settle into the long middle miles on the Ruth Bascom Riverbank Path System, where the Willamette River stays close on one side and the paths are flat and paved. There is a loop through Springfield, a pass through Alton Baker Park and a stretch along Eugene's Downtown Riverfront Park before the course brings you back to the track inside Hayward Field for the finish. Total climb is modest, roughly 400 to 600 feet depending on who is measuring, and the course time limit is seven hours. In 2026, 4,536 runners finished the marathon and about 18 percent of them ran Boston qualifying times. The 2027 race on April 25 is the twentieth running.
